Now in its 11th year, CHEST Challenge is a fun, educational event designed to enhance fellows’ involvement in the ACCP and the annual meeting. Each year, ACCP Affiliate members from all over the world are invited to take a multiple-choice online quiz, testing their knowledge of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.

The top nine teams will be invited to participate in the semifinal rounds at the ACCP Board Review Courses in August. The three top teams will compete in the CHEST Challenge finals at CHEST 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia.

During CHEST 2011 in Hawaii, three finalist teams of fellows competed in the CHEST Challenge Championship. This fun, game-show-style test of their medical knowledge took place in front of a live audience on the final day of the meeting. Part of CHEST Challenge included an earlier clinical skills test in the CHEST 2011 Simulation Center. There, teams were presented with a clinical scenario and had to:

	(1) conduct a resuscitation using a high-fidelity simulator mannequin;
	(2) interpret radiographic data about that patient and answer management questions; and
	(3) demonstrate their communication skills by interacting with an actor playing that patient’s spouse.
